James Raccuia, MD

Professional interests

Dr. James Raccuia is a board certified general surgeon at Blanchard Valley Health System. He is experienced in a wide breadth of general surgery cases with a high interest in minimally invasive oncological colon operations as well complex hernia repairs. 

Professional affiliations

Dr. Raccuia is an alumnus of The Ohio State University, and after graduation was awarded the presidential scholarship to the University of Toledo College of Medicine earning his Medical Doctorate. He continued his integrated general surgery residency at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital System and was elected Chief Resident. He received awards for his medical research and the top score on the American Board of Surgery In Training Exam. He showed consistent excellence by scoring in the country’s top five percentile on his written board certifying exam through the American Board of Surgery.

Personal interests 

Outside of work, Dr. Raccuia enjoys spending time with his wife Megan and their two little girls.
